TastyTrade Wire Transfers
The most immediate way to transfer funds to or from your TastyTrade account is the wire transfer. Domestic wire transfers are often processed the day they are initiated, making funds available to trade the very next day. They are faster than ACH transfers which typically take 2-3 days to clear and written checks, which typically take up to 10 days to clear. While wire transfers outside the United States may take 3 to 5 business days to clear, wiring is still your fastest transfer option.
Initiating and completing a wire transfer is as simple as communicating with your financial institution. In most cases, a representative from your financial institution will serve as a point of contact throughout the wiring process and provide the needed wiring documents, however, depending on your financial institution, some can be done easily online.
Wire Transfers to TastyTrade
There are some important details to get organized before contacting your financial institution.
Access to a printer may be necessary. Banks provide the necessary documentation, some of which require it to printed out, completed analog, and returned to the bank.
Wire transfer are bank to bank interactions in which banks transfer secured funds from one bank account to another bank account, hence why the funds clear your account so quickly. Because of this, it is important to note that when funding your TastyTrade account the initial “recipient” of the transfer is your brokerage, not your personal brokerage account.
All brokerages will have their own wiring instructions, this is the account information your bank uses to contact the recipients bank and transfer the funds. These wiring instructions include the name, address, and ABA routing number of the brokerage’s bank and the brokerage’s name, address, and account number. Lastly, you will need your own TastyTrade account information, including your name as it appears on your account and your account number. Some bank’s wiring forms will have a spot expressly for this information titled “final recipient” or “beneficiary information.” Others may have the section titled less conspicuously as “memo” or “message to recipient.”

Wire Transfers from TastyTrade
Unlike inbound wire transfers, which TastyTrade does not charge to receive, users will incur a $25 fee for outbound wire transfers. Fortunately, TastyTrade makes outbound wire transfers much easier to initiate than inbound wire transfers. Users can find the following form under the “My Money” tab on the TastyTrade website.
Alternative Funding Options
TastyTrade also offers transfers via ACH, check, and ACAT (transfer from another brokerage).
When time is not of the essence, the most convenient transfer method is ACH. An Automated Clearing House (ACH) authenticates communication between your brokerage account and your bank account. This allows users a free way to move funds between their bank and brokerage accounts as many times as they need with only a 2-to-3-day delay.
