Your deposits will automatically be invested based on the strategy you chose, and as with most investment apps, the strategy is
based on your appetite for risk. Not only are your deposits invested based on your portfolio strategy, any round up deposits and
Found Money that you would earn is invested this way, as well.
If you are looking for an app to make investments into specific companies this is not the one for you. Your money is invested
based on your risk tolerance into 5 set categories establish by Acorns. They are moderately conservative, moderate, conservative,
moderately aggressive, and aggressive.
Assuming most people using this app are usually younger, an aggressive portfolio is made up of 6 categories: 10% in real estate
stocks, 10% in emerging market stocks, 40% large company stocks, 20% in small company stocks, and 20% in international large
companies. On the flip side of that, the least aggressive model, otherwise named the conservative model, is comprised of a
slightly different strategy: large company stocks are 12%, corporate bonds are 40%, small company stocks are 2%, real estate
stocks are 2%, government bonds are 40%, and international company stocks are 4%. Your returns, and potential losses, all hinge
on your investment portfolio. The more aggressive you are, the bigger the chance of gains, but also the greater the potential
for losses.
Acorns Referral Program
Lastly, you do have the option to earn a little more cash back by making referrals. The Acorns standard offer is that for each
referral you make, you will earn an extra $5.00 deposited into your portfolio. The nice thing is that Acorns typically offers
incentives throughout the year to incentivize you to refer more people. So far this year, Acorns has had two (2) new referral
promotions. The first started in February 2024 and ran through the end of the month. If you made 12 referrals
(restrictions apply), you could earn a $1,000.00 referral bonus. The new referral program that just started in March will reward
you if you make five (5) referrals (restrictions apply). You can split $100,000.00 with other Acorns investors who make referrals.
If more than 10,000 people are eligible, each person will receive $10.00. These rewards are on top of the $5.00 standard referral
reward.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a good app to get your first taste of investing, the Acorns app is a good route to start.
While it is not a feasible long term investment option, particularly once you start to earn some serious money, it does allow for
easy use, convenience, and basic tools to get you started. The more money you have in your account, the less it is going to cost
you relative to your contributions but the good thing is there is no minimum to start.
